If you are a beginner photographer or experienced travel photographer this trip will allow you to see places that not that many people get the chance to photograph.

With the help of two working professional photographers you will learn how to take your camera out of Auto and learn how to use the camera controls to get the results you want.

Some of the things covered will be the following:

  • Shutter priority mode.
  • Exposure compensation.

The accommodation will be a large house situated on the bank of Loch Ness.

It will be rented for a whole week Saturday to Saturday.

The plan is for everyone to purchase and cook one meal during our stay. Those who have special dietary requirements can cook for themselves if they wish.

This arrangement has worked very well in the past.

This way you only buy and cook one meal for the whole week, this has its advantages.

  • We eat in our accommodation as a group.
  • Eating what we want.
  • Drinking what we want.
  • Knowing everyone is safe.
  • Keeps the overall costs down.

We will all also eat out on one day in the week. Normally, this is on the longest travel day when everyone is tired. (This meal is not included in the price)

So what is included in the price of the trip?

  • Accommodation.
  • Breakfast each day.
  • Travel from and returning to the airport.
  • One overnight stay on the island of Skye
  • All official planned travel and parking fees within Scotland.
  • Photography Tuition

Pay your Deposit of €395.00 to secure your place now. Pay the balance of €800.00 before the 1st of March 2020.

The plan for this trip is as follows.

Day 1.

Fly into Inverness. Get picked up and taken to your accommodation At Loch Ness some 30 miles south along the edge of Loch Ness. The rest of the day will be spent getting settled in and having something to eat. It is on this day we will set out some photography goals on this trip.

Day 2.

You will start each day with a good breakfast. I’m the cook! After breakfast we will head out to Dornie and Eilean Donan Castle. This is probably the most photographed Castle in Scotland. You never know what you may get but you know it could be spectacular.

Eilean Donan Castle is normally open from 25 March - 29 October (open 10.00am – 6.00pm)

We will spend some time at the castle before having lunch and after lunch we may return to the castle for more photography opportunities in the area before heading back to your accommodation for an evening meal. The evening can be spent with the others on the trip or in your own room if you wish.

Day 3.

After breakfast on your second day In Scotland we will make a the trip to Glen Coe. In April you will likely have snow capped mountains and many great photography opportunities throughout the day. We will have lunch in the Kings House and after lunch return to the surrounding area for more photography. We will then return to the house for the evening.

Days 4 and 5.

Making an early start on this morning after having a good breakfast we will set out to visit the Isle of Skye. This I think is my favourite place for photography anywhere. With around a 90 mile drive, this will be our longest day. We will visit the Capital of Skye, Portree. We will also go to the Old Man of Storr (this is quite a climb for those that wish to do it) Visit the Quarang and generally get to as many fantastic places on the island as possible. You will not be lost for photography opportunities. We will have lunch on the Island and then continue the adventure that is Scotland.

We will go to our accommodation and visit some more places on Skye the following day before returning to the house on loch ness in the evening.

Day 6 .

After spending two days on the Isle of Skye this day is used to just settle back down and anyone that wishes to can go out and explore the surrounding area. Those that wish to can just settle back and enjoy the hot tub or the reading room inside the house.

Day 7.

After breakfast we will get ready and go to a place called Glenfinnan at the head of Loch Shiel. This is a spectacular place. It has the Jacobite monument and also the Glenfinnan Viaduct that was used in the Harry Potter movies. We will take some time to get some photographs and then have lunch. After lunch we will tour the surrounding area for more photography opportunities before heading back to the house.

Day 8.

On the last day. We will get up early and have a good breakfast. We will then make arrangements to get everyone to the airport before you all fly out.
